Re: Will my lip go back to normal if I have surgery?

I have the same question because I found out today mine is 2 cm and might require sedation rather than local anesthetic.  I still want to do it but will it really solve the situation.

confirmed-its a mucocele

The lesion is actually 2 cm and he is recommending sedation.  Is 2 cm that large that local cant numb it?  Im worried.

Re: Seeing Doctor tomorrow - hoping he will say I need mucocele removing

If mine is not a mucocele can it still be removed somehow to make my lip more normal?

Re: Is it a mucocele?

I still don't know if mine is a mucocel or just a permanently swollen lip.  If it's just swollen can it be fixed as well as a mucocele would?

Re: No health insurance - what is approx. cost of mucocele removal/treatment?

I'm still nervous either way.  If he agrees to surgery and makes me wait a week I may have to delay unitl September or end up making an extra trip after my roommie is done his.  If he agrees to do it this Thursday I have to face the procedure then as well.  Although between the two options I'd rather get it over with sooner.  But how many doctors perform the surgery on the first visit right after consulting?

Is mine a mucocele

I took a fall over three years ago and had the upper lip damaged.  I don't feel any scar tissue but the lip swells and shrinks off and on.  Is this a mucocele or something else?

Re: No health insurance - what is approx. cost of mucocele removal/treatment?

My roommate is going to have his removed surgically on his next appointment.  I have my first consultation right after his with the same doctor.  If the steroid injection failed with his can I request to have the surgery right thenand there at my first appointment or do I have to wait for a second one?  I really want this thing removed and don't want to have to make extra visits.
