Over the counter treatment

November 13, 2008 by mostakissa

HI, I seen my ENT the other day, he gave me 3 options, slice a strip off of my lip, antibiotic and ointment, or do the surgery and get even more problems and more mucecels. (My story is in the forum).
I went to CVS and got the Neosporin LT. Lip treatment. Shockingly, it works! Improvement within 24 hrs. I never had any open sores on mouth, just a big bump thing. I put it on everytime my lip feels dry and it is really improved. I personally think mucecels can be prevented alltogether just by using this or carmex. It kills any bacteria that cause this problem. So before you get the painful surgery and more problems I hope you will try this first. You lose nothing but gain everything!

Hi, read everyones experiences and mine is similar. Got mucocel bottom lip, had oral surgeon remove it and 4 mo. later.. Helllo!! Came back and crazier than ever. SO now I have my scar tissue from the first one, and this bump that slowly started to grow but it is spread out, kind of like a kidney bean and there is scar tissue underneath. Lip looks normal, completely. But it is numb in that area and it just gets bigger. I feel that the bounderies after the surgery is messed up and that is why this is so 'not round'. Tried to pop the sucker twice. Stuck myself 4 times different areas but I only get blood when I squeeze it. Is it supposed to be clear and could this be something else. P.S. My dr. knows crap, he said I am fine and it is scar tissue when I went to him immediately. Primary Dr. said its fine, dont worry. ENT looked at it and said,"yup, its a mucocel". 3 opinions, all of them are too busy to be bothered. Now the numbness spreads lower in my chin and nose. Any body who can relate?
